Home is 111 Jolly Lane, Jonesville, LA
71343.
Jolly Lane is the name Wade gave this
narrow dirt road, 7 miles out of a small town where four rivers come together. In
other States Parishes are called Counties; only Louisiana has Parishes.
Three and six-tenths acres of flat, low
land is where we live and when flooding comes we call it “waterfront property!”
In reality we live on one end of the acreage and son Marvin and his wife, Dorothy Mae, live on the other end. On this property, at various places around the house, we have rose bushes, a wisteria
bush, several ash trees, sycamore trees, oak trees, pine trees, fig trees, plum trees, as well as honeysuckle vines and some
unnamed trees and vines.
One
of my favorite early morning things to do is look out the east kitchen window across to the neighbor’s yard. The sun comes up over his pond where his geese and ducks flap their wings as they skim the water from one
end of the pond to the other end.
Our
beagle, Blazer, has a pen in the back yard and is ecstatic when anyone goes to pay him attention.
Our home is always open to relatives and
friends. If you are in the area, please stop by and say “hey.” We serve coffee too!
